Juliet Nneka

Juliet Nneka is a digital illustrator and visual artist, born and raised in Lagos, Nigeria, and now based in the Netherlands. She works primarily in illustration, building vivid, character-driven images rooted in mythology, science fiction, and personal memory. Working in Procreate, she is known for her bold use of colour, her strong compositions, and the way she puts Black and African characters at the centre of her work.
After her art found an audience online, she was scouted by DC Comics, and since 2021 she has created official variant covers for some of the company's best-known titles, including Wonder Woman, Green Lantern, and Nubia: Queen of the Amazons. She has also collaborated directly with Procreate, and her work was recognised with a prize in the Beautiful Bizarre Art Prize in 2022. Her illustrations have been shown in exhibitions in Miami, San Francisco, and Lagos.
Her visual language draws on both her Nigerian heritage and a long love of comics, animation, and storytelling, going back to the sketchbooks she filled as a child. She first trained formally in Nigeria, where she was the highest-scoring Cambridge International Art and Design candidate in the country for her year.
