Jama Jurabaev

Jama Jurabaev is a concept artist, illustrator, and art director, born in Tajikistan and based in Georgia. He has worked on major films and series including Star Wars (The Mandalorian, Ahsoka, and The Book of Boba Fett), Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom, Ready Player One, and Aladdin, designing environments and characters for some of the biggest productions in film and games. He works regularly with Lucasfilm, and his credits run through studios including Framestore, MPC, Marvel, Warner Bros., and Legendary.
He came to art by an unusual route, training first as an aerospace engineer before switching to concept design, and that background shows in the structure and realism of his work. He is known for a loose, painterly style and a strong sense of cinematic storytelling.
jama is also the founder of Big Medium Small, a studio and education platform for 3D artists, and a widely followed teacher who shares his process through courses, workshops, and tutorials.
