David Masson

David Masson San Gabriel is a Spanish-American senior concept artist and costume illustrator working across feature films, television, and video games. He designs characters, creatures, and costumes for film art departments and visual effects, often taking a director's or costume designer's idea and turning it into a finished, buildable design.

His credits include Deadpool & Wolverine, Kingdom of the Planet of the Apes, Blue Beetle, Black Adam, Thor: Love and Thunder, Obi-Wan Kenobi, WandaVision, Venom, and Ready Player One. He has also designed creatures for the Netflix series Daybreak.

In 2025 he moved into directing with his own sci-fi/horror short, The Saint Antoine, which premiered at the Sitges Film Festival. He and his team built it using the same techniques they use on big studio productions, aiming for a blockbuster look at short-film scale, and the story follows a reconnaissance crew boarding a silent spacecraft to find out what happened to everyone aboard.
